- Foreign nationals shall apply for a Residence and
Travel Visa D+C (Aufenthalts-Reisevisum D+C) for
entry to and residence for duration of studies no
longer than 6 months. Family members of ÖAD
scholarship holders and of academic teachers and
researchers can also apply for a Type D+C Visa. Apply

- Foreign nationals shall apply for a residence permit
for "Special cases of gainful employment" (Aufenthaltsbewilligung
für "Sonderfälle unselbständiger Erwerbstätigkeit")
for stays in Austria for a period longer than 6 months. Apply
for Temporary Residence Permit
- As a rule the first residence permit will be granted
for the duration of employment or studies or research
- but only for a maximum of 1 year. Before expiry
of the permit foreign nationals can apply for a renewal
in Austria
